The baby dragon chirped happyly as he munched on his breakfast. I smiled at him as I took a sip of my cofee. It was half past seven in the morning and I still had a bit more than an hour before I had to go to class. I was a nervous wreak as we had just started and I didn't know what to expect. I kept my eyes on the eating baby while I played with the mug on my hands. My mind free of any thought.
The sun was raising slowly, and warmth filled the balcony I was sitting on. I sighed, relaxing slightly as the heat of the sun warmed my body. My roomate came into the balcony, a whispered 'morning' as only greeting. She sat down on the chair next to me without a word and started drinking her juice while looking at the buildings nearby. When the dragon finished eating, he curled on my lap, resting his head on my hand and looking at me without blinking. I let a breathy laugh and started petting him.
After a few minutes, my roomate left to go to her classes. I still had a few minutes so I stayed on the balcony. After a bit, I stood and went to the kitchen to clean all the things I used to make my dragon's breakfast.
I left twenty minutes before the classes started. The nervousness was back full force and I had to force myself to take slow deep breaths, hopping to calm myself.
'Come on Raves, lets go!' I said to my baby as I practically ran down the stairs.
I met with the same group I met the day before. I played with my shirt as I waited for them. Yesterday, I waited for them with my roomate, so I didn't have much of a problem. I've known my roomate for a while so I am more or less comfortable with her. But this time I had to wait alone. Raves was flying around me, stopping just for a few seconds before starting to fly once again.
After a minute or two-that felt like hours- they started to arrive. I greeted them with a small smile and started talking to them. At first I didn't know what to say, I didn't know them at all, and I feared i would say something I shouldn't. Little by little, I started feeling more comfortable with them, and that fear disapeared. I couldn't help but smile to myself as a warm feeling spread through me, though that fear stayed at the back of my mind, where it always was.
