Death

Writing prompt: Your character looks at Death. Death looks at your character. "You are early." Death finally says

She has never been one to search willingly. She has always tried to stay safe in all moments, never doing anything that could lead to her death. She was utterly terrified of dying, so she never drove a car, she never went out at night, or did anything slightly dangerous.

And yet, as she grew older that fear of death slowly banished. At thirty years old she learned to drive and tried alcohol for the first time. But it had been a while since she had found happiness, and she couldn't bring herself to enjoy the new experiences.

She never imagined she would seek death willingly. That one day, her life would lose all meaning, and she would not see a single light in a path full of darkness. She never expected that after dying, she would come face to face with death in a staring contest.

Everything was silent as she stared at death.

"You are early." Death finally says staring back at her, voice cold and devoid of feelings.

"I know." She answered.
